Born in Harlem, NY Kip Omolade began his art career as a graffiti artist while interning at Marvel Comics and The Center for African Art. He continued his studies at The Art Students League of New York and earned a BFA at the School of Visual Arts.
His work has been exhibited at Opera Gallery (Hong Kong and Singapore), Jonathan LeVine Projects, Galerie Montmartre and Art Basel Miami. He is represented by Sconci Gallery in Dubai.
Good Morning America, Huffington Post, Juxtapoz and Hi- Fructose have also featured his work. Special projects include 2 Chainz, ESPN, Fantasia Barrino, Nike, Red Bull, Smirnoff, Sony Music, White & Case and The Versace Mansion. Kip Omolade's work is in the permanent collections of Principal Financial Group, Viacom and Hallmark Cards.
Omolade says of his painting "Serendipity" for REVIVAL: "I took one of my chrome masks outside to photograph references for this new painting. Usually, I take dozens of photographs to have something interesting to choose from. This time I took less shots but was struck by this image. The clouds, in the reflections, seemed to touch my head and look like physical representations of my thoughts. The photo captured the rare harmony between subject/environment and chance/intention. Part of being an artist is recognizing when the universe is collaborating with you to create something special."
