"My father loved plastic models. He especially liked plastic models of cars, and there were a number of them on display at home. There were various types of cars, but I was particularly interested in the series of extremely deformed cars. For example, the Choro-Q series, which I drew this time, was a popular series in Japan in the 1980s, in which vehicles were deformed in a cute way. To be honest, I don't think they are beautiful. It might even be called unfashionable. Especially when beautiful streamlined sports cars such as Lamborghini and Ferrari are deformed to an extreme, they look ugly. The original designers might cry. However, it is very lovable and familiar. Japanese people love everything by characterizing it. Even God is a character. Looking back on these toys that I used to play with casually as a child, I feel that they were something special."

Jun Oson was born in 1979 in Aichi, Japan and started his career as an illustrator in 2005. Characters with a peanut-shaped feature were created at that time. His artworks have a stateless style based on the influence of manga and animations that he has been unconsciously influenced since childhood, with elements from artists around the world. It may be similar to the way the Japanese, who maintained a unique culture, are being influenced by the West to create a more special culture. In addition to people with various skin colors, monsters and robots appear in his works. "Diversity" is something he has always had since he started his career and is fundamental to his values. He has done a lot of work as an illustrator and has become known to many people in Japan.

Jun Oson has presented his works as an artist at several individual and group exhibitions up to now, but his 2019 solo exhibition "Share Land" in Beijing and his 2020 solo exhibition "DISTANCE" in Diesel, Tokyo, have shown that he has changed from an illustrator to an artist. In recent years, he has held solo exhibitions around the world, including in Europe and Asia. Now, his impressive works, such as layered works and works molded into contours, get people’s attention not only in Japan but also in foreign countries.
